DES MOINES, Iowa — An Iowa school principal apologized after coming under attack Thursday on social media from parents and others forbeing rewarded by their teacher before the holiday break.
Parent Neil Erickson, whose son was in the class, posted about the incident Thursday afternoon. He wrote that his son had been excited for days about the pizza lunch with his teacher, but that Brody Middle School Principal Thomas Hoffman took the food away.The post triggered thousands of angry responses and was shared by others, who accused Hoffman of being a Grinch.
Hoffman wrote a note to parents late Thursday afternoon, apologizing and saying he removed the pizzas in an attempt to be fair to all students at the school.

Time for the parents of these kids, teachers and other staff to show up a school board meeting and demand that principle be removed. You people have the power to do that.

This whole mentality that everyone gets the same thing is utter nonsense. You get what you earn in this country and those kids earned pizza! This principal sounds like a socialist. I bet he votes for Bernie or Pocahontas.
So, typical socialist mentality...a few can't be rewarded if not all are as well, regardless if they were part of the team. So now everybody is equal in their misery.
He took the pizza because it’s not fair to the rest of the students in the school? What a bunch of BS. F**k the rest of the kids. That teacher was doing something nice for their own students.
Many school districts have rules on things like that. No outside food at all, forget about fair or not.
Wowzers....I just want to say thank you to the teacher who doesn't get paid a lot....for paying for this party.. the teachers tend to go above and beyond for their students as they are mentors to the next gen...it's a sad day when we confuse school rules w/jail rules...lift up
