Mendax The Dragon Takes Flight In The Secret Kingdom Clip [EXCLUSIVE]

Screen Rant is proud to present an exclusive clip of Paramount and Saban’s new adventure movie, The Secret Kingdom. The film is set to release in theaters and on digital platforms on Friday, June 9th, and follows a pair of siblings' fantastical journey through an unknown land. After their family relocates to a small town, Peter and Verity find themselves in possession of an artifact that transports them to the Below.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Writer-director Matt Drummond is involved in multiple aspects of the creative process, also serving as a producer and special effects supervisor for the film. From live-action to voice actors, The Secret Kingdom has a strong main cast and stars Sam Everingham as Peter and Alyla Browne as Verity. Everingham is known for his role in the 2019 series, Hardball, while Browne recently worked on the Netflix film, True Spirit.

While it's unclear exactly what's happening to the young girl, her crystallized hand indicates that she's running out of time. Pling the Pangolin is adamant that Verity must stay awake, but despite Peter's attempts to rouse her, his sister continues to slip away. The sneak peek comes to an end when Peter's compass points to the place where the sky meets the ground, and Mendax whisks them toward an emerging mountaintop.

Previously, the film's director has worked as the visual effects supervisor for projects such as Attack of the Sabertooth, Prehistoric, Dinosaur Island, and My Pet Dinosaur. Given Drummond's SFX background, experience with similar concepts, and the magical world displayed in the clip, it's safe to assume that The Secret Kingdom will be a must-see for fantasy fans. The film is rated PG and has a run time of 98 minutes.
