McDonald's is raising wages, but 95% of its workers will not be impacted by the change

McDonald's has not signaled that franchisees will be making any similar announcements, though there has been extensive discussion within the system about how best to hire and retain workers. McDonald's franchisees blame hiring challenges on unemployment benefits and say an 'inflationary time bomb' will force them to hike Big Mac prices

"Together with our franchisees, we face a challenging hiring environment, and staying ahead means we must constantly renew our commitment to offer one of the leading employment packages in the industry," Erlinger said. "We want to be the employer of first choice in our industry," the letter reads."The proposal allows for Owner control and discretion. One size doesn't fit all."

Would love to see a story about franchisees who have been doing the right thing for a long time. Here's a franchisee in DC/MD who pays well, gives PTO, healthcare, & predictable scheduling.

My local McDonald's is owned by the Healy's (I think they own +14 in and around KY). They've been raising their wages the past few years anyway. It'd be interesting to see a corporate owned vs. privately owned pay-scale, maybe corporate is trying to catch up with the other 95%?

Is vitalik a trustworthy person in the crypto world? ! Oh, he has a small private vault for charity! Shit! Retweet, let more people understand vitalik, a great philanthropist! It's disgusting!

Chipotle to hike pay, offer bonuses in bid to hire 20,000 more workersChipotle said it will increase restaurant wages resulting in a $15 average hourly wage by the end of June, as it looks to bring on 20,000 workers. F&B workers got a taste (pun intended) of what it’s like to not work F&B and probably found other opportunities that pay more in a less stressful environment. I hate it for struggling restaurants but can’t blame them. Walmart distribution center is doing this for new hires

Opinion: Dear Amazon: We love you, but you’ve got a problemFast and easy aren’t enough anymore. We also expect companies to do business in a way that aligns with our values. If you believe in this statement then stop using Amazon. They are making so much money they will continue to hire everyone at 15 bucks a hour. Amazon needs to be split up 95% only bad news( Consumers need to stop being so greedy and trying to find goods for so cheap. Do employees a favor and only shop for the most expensive items and retailers will raise prices so they can pay a living wage.
