Make your contribution now and help Gothamist thrive in 2023.The authorities issued an Amber Alert – and activated several rescue teams – in a search to find Charlotte Sena, a 9-year old presumably abducted at Saratoga County’s Moreau Lake State Park, roughly three hours outside of New York City, over the weekend.
The state police, aviation, bloodhounds, underwater rescue teams, drones and other special response teams are in the midst of a search that’s lasted more than 18 years. More than 100 personnel are engaged in the search, Hochul said. The authorities established a command center at the state park while the FBI is already conducting interviews with those around the state park, according to Lt. Colonel Richard Mazzone. He said that the authorities are employing “all resources that we can” to find her.
Hochul, who shared that she spoke with Sena’s parents, David and Tricia, described the fourth grader as a “really nice girl” who “looked out for other children.” She recently became a class officer for her school’s student council.
