The perfect staycation or city break

So when we think of where to stay in London, it’s safe to say we want something unique – something that you’d be hard pushed to find in any of the other hundreds of options. That’s why, when I got invited to stay at the, I was intrigued by their seven Balcony Suites. Each with their own private balcony overlooking the Thames, the suites boast views of the river, Westminster bridge, Waterloo bridge, the houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the bustling streets of Southbank below, and the London Eye.

In fact, the London Eye is right outside your window. You’re so close you can wave to the tourists slowly rotating past in the little pods . The room itself is just what you’d expect of a five-star luxury hotel: big King-size bed with 300-thread count Egyptian cotton linen, a living area, and a very spacious marble bathroom. We squeezed in two bubble baths into our one-night stay and wish we’d had time for two more.

Make sure you leave time for a meal at Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar in the hotel, too. Ingredients are truly locally-sourced, sourcing produce predominantly from Kent and Essex farms. Top-quality, no-nonsense steak is the name of the game here, but there’s plenty of other options too, like catch of the day market fish from Billingsgate, a veggie feast of the day from Covent Garden market, and of course a feast-sized, pale ale-battered, good old British portion of fish and chips.
