A 69-year-old man died last week after he was shoved during an argument at a hotel in the Design District, officials say.
Dallas police officers responded about 1 a.m. to a call for service in the 2200 block of North Stemmons Service Road, between Wycliff Avenue and Market Center Boulevard. A preliminary Dallas Police Department report on the incident lists the exact address of the assault as the Hilton Anatole.
Walton did not appear in the Dallas County jail log Thursday afternoon. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.Ettinger, a longtime jeweler, and his wife recently retired and were in Dallas attending their final trade show, according to“Dave was a font of passion with genuine enthusiasm not just for his interests and hobbies, but also in those of his friends,” the post said. “His charisma made him an instant friend with everyone he met and a beloved member of the community in Berkeley County.
Ettinger had been a master jeweler at Bechdel Jewelers in Inwood, West Virginia, since September 1975. He and his wife became co-owners of the store after her father retired.“Having just recently retired, Dave leaves behind a legacy of dedication to his craft, staff, and clients,” the post says. He was a member of the Independent Jewelers Organization, Retail Jewelers Organization, The Virginias Golf Association, Cress Creek Golf Club and the Panhandlers Dinner Club.
