According to an arrest affidavit, the victim was driving northbound on the 183 toll road on November 9, 2023, when Sanchez, who was traveling in the middle lane in a white Chevrolet pickup truck, fired multiple shots at the victim's vehicle. The victim's rear window was shattered and the tailgate was struck twice, with one bullet penetrating the cab and lodging in the driver's seat headrest.
Ballistics testing by the Austin Police Crime Lab determined that the bullets recovered from the victim's truck had been fired from Sanchez's seized Glock pistol. Cell phone records also placed Sanchez in the area at the time of the shooting. Sanchez was arrested on April 19 and booked into the Travis County Jail. Bond has not yet been set. The victim, who was uninjured in the shooting, is cooperating with the investigation.
