This carbon sink prevents those past emissions from accumulating in the atmosphere and contributing to global climate change. Covering just 7% of Earth’s land surface, tropical forests are responsible for 33% of global biomass production and 50% of the global forest carbon sink

The soil in the Amazon jungle pretty much sucks anyways but if you’re looking for carbon capture you should use the data from La mayan Black Earth areas . We bet you’ll find a rapid growth in every area the Mayans used biochar in the soil it’s been highly fertile for years
