A reader applauds a decision by Saskatoon city council to approve an eight-storey office building near the Broadway business district.

Regarding the vacant lot at 509 12th Street East which is directly east of the Bridgewater condominiums, the mayor and city council made the right decision in approving a proposed eight-storey office building to be built by Modus Ventures Corp.

Some owners from the Bridgewater told city council that there are developers out there that would be interested in doing a residential high-rise development with underground parking, but this is not true. We had two national real estate firms market this land as a potential high-rise condominium site for over 15 years with no results. They approached all of the major developers in Saskatoon and across Canada and not a single developer came forward to make an offer.

The size and pie-shaped configuration of this site made underground parking impossible and the Broadway area site was just not big enough for a high-rise condominium complex with exterior balconies.to find out what you need to know about how to write one in a way that will increase the odds it will be published.
