'Our mission is to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow and that includes inspiring them to be tolerant, inclusive, and kind.” LEGO_Group

franchise and Legoland theme parks requested that marketing for certain products be stopped and removed from commerce sites as soon as possible"in light of recent events." More than 30 products were listed in the email, and among them were ones that featured representation of police officers, firefighters, and criminals. Police and fire stations — as well as emergency vehicles like patrol cars and helicopters — were listed, as were mini figures in city police vests and the White House.

"The intent of the email was to ask that [members of Lego's affiliate marketing program] pause promoting and marketing a selection of Lego products on their sites. We paused all marketing across our own social channels earlier this week in response to the tragic events in the US." It's a bold move for any toy company, but the Lego spokesperson made clear the brand's goal:"There is no place for racism in our society . . . Our mission is to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow and that includes inspiring them to be tolerant, inclusive, and kind."

LEGO_Group This is crazy. There are many LEOs who are POC. (And military, and firefighters/first responders). Don't use childrens toys to perpetuate the stereotype of bad officers.

Lego pulls ads for cop-related toys in wake of George Floyd's deathLego is also donating $4 million to “organizations dedicated to supporting black children and educating all children about racial equality.” LEGO advertises? Bad idea. Now they are deciding for kids what’s bad and what’s good. I don’t support unfair treatment of minors, but I also don’t support unfair portrayals of our first responders. Might as well cancel every cop related tv show and movie then going forward.

Lego pulls some advertising for White House and police building sets in wake of George Floyd protestsAn email sent to some online companies that sell Lego sets requested that marketing for some products be stopped and Lego itself paused advertising on social media. Stunning and brave And rightly so. We need to rid ourselves of this 'policing' mentality. Everybody policing everybody. It's no wonder America is fed up with itself. We can't brag about anything anymore.

Michael Che Says It’s a ‘Bummer’ His 2016 Black Lives Matter Joke Is Relevant'I feel like the guy who wrote 'Amazing Grace.' You’re happy you hear the song, but every time you hear it you’re like, 'Oh no, what happened?' Because no one plays it for a good occasion.' I've never liked that song because, if I understand its origin, it was inspired by a slaver Captain who realized the horror of what he did. But what about the people who experienced the horror? He gets a song out it and redemption!
