“We have been in private discussions with the special counsel's office,” Schiff said Sunday during an interview with CNN’s “State of the Union.Last week, Schiff warned that time was “running out” for Mueller to publicly testify about his investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election, citing the looming August recess.
In a news conference last month, Mueller said that he had concluded his duties and special counsel and did not plan on appearing before Congress.Sign Up By signing up you agree to receive email newsletters or alerts from POLITICO. The timeline for any subpoena remains unclear.
Schiff said it is his hope that “we'll reach a final conclusion either he's going to come in voluntarily or we're going to have to subpoena him.”
Or cat, I may add.
sethjlevy He won't do it. Democrats are scared to death of what Mueller may say. Terrified
It’s about damn time
If you don't sapini the guy in The subpoena is not answered your just ruining the whole operation what he didn't answer or didn't show up they should have jumped on him with the cuffs
Leave the man alone.
The answer is no they won’t lol.
this congress procrastinates more than a teen with chores...
Please do. Mueller needs to testify.
Put what about all the dying children in your concentration camps?
Do it. It would be great to watch Mueller repeat his findings of no conspiracy over and over. Republican Congressmen will have a field day. And of course Dems staff will have to do their questioning.
Forget Mueller and get the attorneys who worked for him!
How about making a decision on some legislation?
No
No one wishes to be subpoenaed, I suppose. But it seems inherent in the special counsel position as with others that there would be a duty to testify before Congress.
Let me guess how that will go when they ponder on the questions he’s going to get from Republicans who will want to know why his report is full of errors regarding FBI timelines, alleged Russian agents & leaks to the media. I doubt we’ll see Mueller testify under oath ever.
Why is this taking so long? Dems need to speed up investigations before Mueller Report is covered in cobwebs.
Meanwhile his district is drowning in human waste and spent needles
Why wouldn't he just ignore the subpoena like everyone else. There are, apparently, no consequences for doing so.
What’s the rush? It’s not like you have 400 pages of evidence of obstruction, or your authority of oversight is ridiculed by the WH, or your democracy is under attack both from within & by outside hostile forces. Take your time, watch how children are dying & debate semantics
What is taking so long? Just do it or don’t. Stop talking so much nonsense like you have for 3 years or more.
They won’t subpoena him - the Dems are very afraid about the Repubs asking him pointed questions that will show his incompetence.
It’s a sad state we’re in since trump was elected. Notice I said elected. I won’t dishonor the office. I’m saying he’s caused all this since his term started. He’s so angry that even though he won he has to continually complain. This president hasn’t improved. Vote for change.
RepAdamSchiff if you get Mueller or Rosenstein in front of your committee would you please ask on behalf of this concerned citizen if the DOJ guideline on indicting a sitting president was discussed with Mueller before he began his investigation. If so, what was discussed?
When is politico going to write about att William barr th as t has 6 Indictment sitting on his desk I guess it doesn't fit the progressive agenda..
morgfair Should have done that long time ago.
Let's hope Jim Jefferies from Ohio will ask him some nice questions...
If they do get him in there I hope someone on RepAdamSchiff committee ask Mueller if the justice department guideline on indicting a setting president was discussed with anyone before he started his investigation.
morgfair If he hasn’t agreed to yet, they will have to! America needs to hear what Mueller has to say. He left us hanging, and he shouldn’t have!
Whether to subpoena Mueller? Whether? How about when?
The Do-nothing House Democrats inaction again.
More obstructionism from the Dem party. When will politicians spend their time working on real problems instead of party-fighting for power/control. American citizens are getting sick of this crap.
Ya'll some of the longest decision making people! That's the main reason you don't have any results, you're always fucking thinking over making a decision!
I’d have a lot more respect if Nancy and Chuck had a press conference and just said we’re not going to impeach we’re afraid of losing the election. This slow walk until they’re out of time is stupid.
AdamSchiff Mueller should have been subpoenaed the day the report was handed down. The longer u wait the further from justice trump gets. What r u waiting 4? MS45 and Barr are making a mockery of the justice system, and u look incompetent and weak AF. TakeTheFuckingGlovesOff
Do it damn it.
Rather see you enforce one of those subpoenas that's already been ignored
“How much sand is in your hour glass?”
But have they started court proceedings on the other subpoenas?
I've stopped listening to the democrats and I will continue to ignore them until they do something real, like say, start the damned ImpeachmentInquiryNow! RepAdamSchiff SpeakerPelosi
What’s to decide? JFC.
Trump fiddles while America burns and congress watches spellbound.
No hurry. Hopeless idiots.
Yawn! Wake me when they actually do something!
Why haven't impeachment hearings started? We almost had WWIII last week!
RepAdamSchiff Democrats It's BEYOND pathetic now, people.
