American lawmakers expressed doubt that they could advance legislation to toughen the asylum process for migrants in the next two weeks

U.S. lawmakers on Sunday expressed doubts that they could advance legislation to toughen the asylum process for migrants in the next two weeks, as sought by President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence after the administration delayed a planned weekend round of deportations.

Democrats signaled they would rather focus on a comprehensive immigration overhaul or measures to fund the asylum process at the border. Republicans, meanwhile, favored legislation to limit asylum options and build Mr. Trump’s proposed border wall.

Congressional Laws are more problematic than migrants themselves. The Devil is the details they relish; the innocent lost because of political egotistical ineptitudes.

The middle class is selfish ! They have lots of money to share with illegals. It is a moral duty for Americans to share their wealth with the poor ! Bernie Sanders is right when he says we should force the middle class to give more of their money to others.

Great so let the deportations begin!!

Congress will do nothing tomorrow, the next day or in two weeks. They should not get a raise and they should be working 12 hour days until it is solved. Period.

Well, if they calculate the rate in which they 'get things done', then yes, they won't get anything done in two weeks. Have you been in the DMV? Well, those are just DMV workers, we're talking about 'Law Makers' here.

They can’t agree what time it is in two weeks.

Why can’t the asylum process be initiated in the home countries of these immigrants? Why not give these folks the option to apply BEFORE they take such a perilous journey. Instead, by the time they get to the US border, they have nothing left to lose.

Since it's been over two years with realDonaldTrump doing almost nothing about Immigration, I am sure two more weeks will solve it all...buffoon

DEPORT THEM!

Trump delays ICE raids two weeks to see if Congress can 'work out a solution'President Donald Trump announced Saturday that he's delaying for two weeks US Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids that were planned to take place Sunday in 10 major US cities, saying deportations will proceed unless Congress finds a solution on the US-Mexico border. So, extortion and threats to get what he wants. He’s just setting the stage so he can claim victory. No one’s going to believe it, but it’s the same pattern he has always used: create a crisis, do something awful, stop doing something awful, claim a win. Too bad. Start deporting today.
