The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is restocking Lake Dunlap with fish to rebuild the population after the lake sat mostly dry for four years. The lake, which is east of New Braunfels , is created by damming the Guadalupe River . It was drained in 2019 when its dam collapsed, leaving only the natural flow of the river through the exposed lakebed. Construction on a new dam was completed last summer and the lake began filling again, reaching full capacity in October.
