In a police interview that's since been made public, Mattingly's description of how officers were identifying themselves doesn't align exactly with the witness' account. It's not clear at this point whether the grand jury was presented with the information about the juror's previous statements. In Cameron's statement Monday night, he stated he would release the grand jury recording but noted that grand jury proceedings are intended to be secret: "It's apparent that the public interest in this case isn't going to allow that to happen."
Observers say they're hopeful the court filings will answer those lingering questions surrounding the Taylor case. "We can't find one instance of Cameron having prosecuted a case — criminal or civil," his opponent, Greg Stumbo, said during the lead-up to last year's election, which Cameron easily won by more than 200,000 votes.
