Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey spoke to the Birmingham Business Alliance at The Club on Monday, April 18, 2022. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey responded to criticism from late night host John Oliver Monday, saying she’s not bothered by critiques from a “liberal, Hollywood-friendly agenda.”
“I can assure you that the people of Alabama want nothing to do with Mr. Oliver’s liberal, Hollywood-friendly agenda,” Ivey said,. “We’re going to continue to focus on helping our young people become the adults God intended them to be, and if that offends you, John, I don’t care.” The “Last Week Tonight” had two segments about Alabama Sunday -- about the state’s utility companies and about new LGBTQ legislation, signed by Ivey in April, that criminalizes healthcare providers who offer gender-affirming care to transgender minors.
Also, everyone that calls you out GovernorKayIvey isn't part of some liberal blah blah agenda. Most of the time they just want you to actually give answers for your horrible, corrupt, agenda against your fellow Alabamians.
I can assure you kayiveyforgov GovernorKayIvey that many people in Alabama want nothing to do with your hate filled rhetoric. We don't want you passing laws based on your religion. We would like to know where that $2mil came from and why you refuse to debate.
