The gondolas from the Great Wheel at Morey's Pier in Wildwood have been removed.

The end of summer isn’t always the end of fun at the Jersey Shore. The Giant Wheel — a ferris wheel at Morey’s Pier — is one of those year-round attractions for many around the state to enjoy sweeping views, as well as a fun light show for holidays. But this offseason, the plug has been pulled for necessary renovations.

Morey added that the wheel will be painted the same color and the same configuration of lights will be placed back on the ride by the spring. The Giant Wheel has been host to several promotions for Morey’s Pier including a brunch calledwas manufactured by Vekoma International, a Dutch company, and transported by ship to the east coast.
