Dozens of people gathered together downtown Tuesday to remember and honor fallen Phoenix police officers.

'It was really good to see his name'; Phoenix police officer killed in the line of duty in 1944 honored 80 years laterPHOENIX — Dozens of people gathered at Phoenix City Hall Tuesday evening to remember and honor every fallen Phoenix Police officer.

“There was a couple of us who worked on this together and it was really good to see his name," said Phoenix Police Department Sgt. Vincent Cole. “The biggest problem we have is first hand accounts no longer exist," Cole said."Certainly anybody who is on the department then is now deceased so we have to rely on primary source documents to kind of tell the story.”
