Israel lambasted U.N. Secretary General António Guterres and others for calling for a cease-fire during a Security Council meeting on the war with Hamas.

The Pentagon will provide full Iron Dome air defense systems from Army stocks to Israel, a senior defense official said Tuesday, an escalation in U.S. support.

The Biden administration announced last week that it would provide Israel with interceptor missiles that it could fire from the Iron Dome systems it already owned. The weapons are designed to take out incoming short-range rockets and artillery rounds, and they have a strong success record. The senior defense official spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue. Bloomberg reported the deployment of the full systems earlier Tuesday.
