A Georgia judge was removed from her position Tuesday, after allegedly assaulting a police officer outside a nightclub in Atlanta last week.Christina Peterson, 38, was a probate judge in Douglas County and was already facing mounting scrutiny over her practices on the bench since taking office in 2020, well before the incident involving the Atlanta Police Department officer.
'They can take a fingerprint and they can find out who I am,' she was heard saying from the back of the squad car.Peterson was arrested on suspicion of battery and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.In the state Supreme Court order provided to Newsweek, it was determined that Peterson be removed from office immediately, rather than suspended pending court action regarding the club incident.
