In this November 2018 photo, a U.S. Coast Guard patrol boat passes President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla. University of Wisconsin student Mark Lindblom has pleaded guilty to sneaking into Mar-a-Lago last fall during one of President Trump's visits there.
“We have no reason to believe he had a political, criminal or terroristic purpose,” Assistant U.S. Attorney John McMillan told the court, according to the Palm Beach Post. “It was a foolish decision he did on a lark.” The Secret Service said in its statement that Lindblom did not come into contact with the president or first lady “because of the layered security system in place at the club.” He was arrested after appearing out of place among other club members, the Secret Service said.
The Secret Service said in a statement at the time that the agency “does not determine who is invited or welcome at Mar-a-Lago; this is the responsibility of the host entity,” referring to Mar-a-Lago management. It was the second letter in as many weeks that Democrats wrote to Wray requesting an investigation connected to Mar-a-Lago. In March, a frequent club guest and Republican donor, Li “Cindy” Yang, was accused of selling access to Trump to Chinese nationals who attended events where Trump was present.
In 1993, Bill Clinton visited the hospital where I was training. That morning, I couldn’t find my ID so I put on my rarely-worn suit, grabbed my never-used briefcase and walked by the Secret Service, like I owned the place, to my clinic right next to the podium. 🤷♂️
Two things: Mar-a-Lago is a national security nightmare. Is there any question at all in your mind that the teenager who got a slap on the wrist for this stunt is white, because a black kid pulling a stunt like this would be dead.
