House to vote again to block Trump's border emergency

Trump announced in February that he would use presidential powers to take $3.6 billion from military construction projects to be used for a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico.

Both the House and Senate have already voted to condemn Trump’s extraordinary move to circumvent Congress in a last-ditch attempt to fund his border wall. Under federal law, Democrats can force a vote of disapproval on the declaration every six months. Just 13 Republicans voted with Democrats on the initial vote in February. But that figure could rise after the Trump administration recently unveiled the list of projects that are set to lose funding — which will affect the districts of dozens of Republicans.

Trump rejected the measure, in one of his first vetoes of his presidency, prompting the House to unsuccessfully attempt to override his decision.
