Homer Bush Jr. is beginning to get his feet under him. The speedy center field prospect drove in four runs on two hits and collected his 15th steal, leading high Single-A Fort Wayne to a 7-6 win on Sunday at West Michigan. The 22-year-old Bush also walked in lifting his batting line to .273/.368/.293. He still has just two extra-base hits on the season and five RBIs total, but he’s hitting .368/.420/.421 in May after a cold April . Bush’s 15 steals are tops in the Padres system.
Albuquerque 10, Chihuahuas 5: LHP Tom Cosgrove allowed four runs on three hits and two walks while recording one out. He threw 17 of his 27 pitches for strikes. RHP Gabe Mosser allowed five runs in 3 ⅓ innings in the loss. SS Mason McCoy drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, and 1B Nate Mondou , 2B Matthew Batten , DH Tirso Ornelas and RF Cal Mitchell all had two hits. Mitchell, Mondou and 3B Eguy Rosario all had doubles.
