A Hollywood strike was averted as film and TV production workers reached a deal with studios and streaming services

LOS ANGELES—The film and television industry narrowly avoided a shutdown of production on Saturday evening after the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees reached a last-minute, tentative agreement with studios and streaming services over worker demands.

The agreement reached Saturday covers some 40,000 film and television workers who are members of 13 local IATSE unions on the West Coast. Under the new contract, which must still be ratified by workers, IATSE members will see boosted pay on streaming-service productions and a reduction in the amount of time members work without a break, among other changes.

Are they public people ? Are they banned a strike for the purpose of the Public Welfare ?

I hope everyone's paying attention to the zeitgeist here. With the current shortage of employees, your window to UNIONIZE is NOW. 1. Prices have been rising while wages have stagnated for TWENTY YEARS, and 2. McDonalds workers in Denmark are unionized and make $22 an hour.

Not very smart to go on strike right now.

Hollywood crews union nearing a deal with studios that would avert a strikeIATSE is close to a new contract with the Hollywood studios, which would end a months-long standoff that threatened to trigger an historic strike that would have halted productions nationwide Over-whelming detail I see repeated in this issue is that workers are being forced into 14 hour shifts by 'studios' who don't seen to care about safety or family time It really sounds like someone needs to hire better schedulers. No other industry just shrugs at this kinda crap A lot of IATSE members are sighing while reading this thinking they were really looking forward to seeing their families and getting decent night's sleep next week between picket line shifts DONT BELIEVE IT UNTIL YOU HEAR IT FROM IATSE DIRECTLY!
