Activists and athletes including Patrisse Cullors, Nihad Awad and A'ja Wilson selected a quote from Martin Luther King Jr. and shared why it resonates with them.

Activists and athletes fighting for equality in the Black, Latino, Asian American, Native American and Muslim American communities took a moment to reflect on King's words when asked by CNN last year. They shared their thoughts weeks after the insurrection at the US Capitol and months after the police killing of George Floyd sparked widespread protests and rekindled the Black Lives Matter movement.

They chose a few sentences from King's 1967 book "Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?"Why did Suryanarayanan pick those words? "Building a just world starts with the abolition of White supremacy, in all its forms -- structural, institutional, and personal," Suryanarayanan said."But as non-Black people of color, we must also unpack and combat our own complicity in White supremacy and American imperialism.

You spent your taxes on your military bases around the world, the American people will understand. One day Instead the GOP has brought on an unbelievable increase in RACISM, WAR and INTERNAL STRIFE that denies us any PEACE. We celebrate a man whose legacy has been undone by an ideologically stagnant political party. Abraham, Martin, John & Robert… may they R.I.P.

How to watch the 'Ice Moon' rise on Martin Luther King Jr. DayThe full moon is the first of 2022. Screw your fake moon marketing flavors. It’s the moon. Not something we should ignore every day except for the mere 24-hour window each month that it is considered “full”, making it briefly worth looking at. This whole marketing promotion for the moon is sheer idiocy.
