Last night Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sat down for an exclusive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. The two spilled the tea on almost everything royal—and even revealed the sex of their second child.
The news came a couple months after Meghan revealed she had suffered a miscarriage in July 2020. “I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second….Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few,” she wrote at the time in a powerful and honest essay for The New York Times.with Oprah, saying that she had already lost so much in search of the truth and refused to live in fear.
Throughout the interview, the couple maintained that stepping back had been the best course for their family, as race played a big role in how the family was treated. Meghan explained that Archie wasn’t given the title of prince and, while outlets at the time said it was Harry and Meghan’s decision, it actually was not. The couple still isn’t entirely clear why, but it’s a safe assumption that it has to do with race.
