Greece plants tree in memory of longtime firefighter, Kodak employee

Leaders held a special tree-planting ceremony outside of Greece Town Hall on Vince Tofany Boulevard. The Autumn Blaze Maple was planted in memory of Kenneth Preston, who died last summer. Kenneth was an Eastman Kodak retiree and served the North Greece Fire District for more than 60 years.North Greece Fire District earns highest possible ISO fire protection classification

"You will see what is being done here today is much more than simply planting a tree," said Gene Preston, Kenneth's brother. "Supervisor Reilich and town board members have provided a living symbol of Ken's life that will outlive most of us." The town plants a tree each year to honor a member of the community while promoting the importance of trees for the environment.
