British stars were at the forefront of the winners at the 78th Golden Globes Awards as Rosamund Pike joined Emma Corrin and John Boyega among those being honoured

With the Hollywood ceremony being hosted from both sides of the United States, in Beverly Hills and New York, the winners were mostly on video links from their homes, as they learned their fate,It was a decent night for the British as Emma Corrin, Rosamund Pike, John Boyega and Daniel Kaluuya all winning a Golden Globe for their on-screen efforts.

Emma paid tribute to Princess Diana after she won for her portrayal of the royal in The Crown.John Boyega won Best Supporting Actor, Television for his part in Small Axe while Daniel Kaluuya picked up Best Supporting Actor, Motion Picture for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah.

Rosamund Pike has won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a comedy or musical for I Care A Lot, said: "I do care a lot, thank you for recognising the dark side of comedy."The Crown proved to be hugely successful, with Josh O'Connor winning best performance by an actor in a television series, drama, for his portrayal of the Prince Of Wales.

Joining Emma Corrin on the winners list, he said: "That's quite a surprise... to our incredible cast, every day working with you was a masterclass."The show's night was topped off by winning the best TV drama series gong.Peter Morgan, the The Crown's creator, thanked the HFPA and Netflix, saying: "I'm just sorry I'm sitting here in my tragic little office and not surrounded by the people who make the show such a pleasure to make."
