The Lee County Sheriff’s Office tells Action 8 News that deputies received a call around 10:22 p.m. on March 16 regarding a kidnapping in the 100 block of Lee Road 2063 in the Salem community.
Deputies with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office observed the vehicle on U.S. Highway 80 in Phenix City and attempted to stop the vehicle.Lee County officials say that’s where 28-year-old Eric Deyon Shorter was taken into custody. Officials say the victim suffered from severe road rash, cuts and bruises. She was taken to East Alabama Medical Center for treatment.
