Prosecutors for five of Georgia’s most populous counties say they won't prosecute women who get abortions under the state's 'heartbeat' bill.

District attorneys for five of Georgia’s most populous counties vowed not to prosecute people who get abortions under the extreme anti-abortion “heartbeat” bill signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp earlier this month.

The legislation criminalizes abortion for anyone who undergoes or performs the procedure after six weeks, carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. “There is no language outlined in HB 481 explicitly prohibiting a district attorney from bringing criminal charges against anyone and everyone involved in obtaining and performing what is otherwise currently a legal medical procedure,” Boston said.

Similarly, a spokesperson for Fulton County DA Paul Howard said the district attorney “has no intention of ever prosecuting a woman under this new law,” he told NBC affiliate 11Alive. He also said Howard will not prosecute medical professionals for performing the procedure in Fulton County, which includes the state’s capital, Atlanta.

Oh good that's a load off my mind they _vow_. You hear that everyone? We have their words. They're literally a cross between a cop and a lawyer but I'm sure we can trust them.

Resignation is the word you're looking for

Abortion rights advocates protest to 'stop the bans' as more states pass fetal heartbeat billsAbortion rights supporters gathered at statehouses, town squares and courthouses across the United States in a show of opposition to a wave of laws attempting to sharply restrict abortion I think that women should vote on what women should be able to do with their bodies and men should vote on what men should be able to do with their bodies. Is that sexist🙂🙂🙂 As of yet so does every state. They just feel differently about the morality of procrastination when it comes to a potential human life. A viable fetus should never die at the hand of a doctor. Viability secures it’s basic human rights. Pro Choice is OK so long as it's a baby derived from incest, rape or may cause physical harm to the mother...anything else is immoral.

I’m sure this will change it Lol There are around 10 states that have similar bills. Why single out Georgia? And Jason Bateman will work wherever the hell the studio tells him to work.
