Gary Glitter moved to new cell dubbed 'paedokabin' by fellow inmates

It's been reported that disgraced former pop star Gary Glitter has been moved to a new 'humiliating' cell, as he serves his sentence for sexual offences at HMP The Verne

The convicted criminal, real name Paul Gadd, is said to be humiliated by his new digs in the grounds at HMP The Verne, near Portland, Dorset. It's been revealed that the 77-year-old, who was jailed for sex offences in 16 years, was placed in the temporary cabin last month in a switch aimed to help social distancing in the prison.

The disgraced star's new surroundings include a bed, shower, sink and toilet.Speaking about the move, a source told The Sun that the convicted criminal "won't be enjoying" his new cell. "It’s about as grim as it gets. The cabins creak every time you move about, they smell and they’re either too cold or too hot," they told the publication.

"It’s like sleeping in one of those toilets they put up at music festivals. He won’t be enjoying it one bit."The disgraced singer is currently serving a 16 year sentence in HMP The Verne in Portland, Dorset for sexual offences. The convicted paedophile, who rose to fame as a glam rocker in the 1970s, was put behind bars in 2015 for indecently assaulting young girls. headtopics.com

Earlier this year, it had been claimed that he was set to move from his current prison to an open prison.Having now served seven years of his 16 year sentence, it was alleged in the summer that he had been told by governors at The Verne he'd been earmarked for a move to an open prison.

However there has been no sign of the transfer so far , and Justice Secretary Robert Buckland is believed to have the power to block the proposed move.Speaking to Dorset Echo in June, former Big Break presenter Jim Davidson discussed the shamed star's rehabilitation and how the convicted paedophile is apparently "remorseful" about his crimes.

"I spoke to Paul when I visited The Verne two years ago. He's remorseful and he looked ready to start a new life," Jim said of the jailed 77-year-old.The Celebrity Big Brother winner's mention of the jailed pop star came as he was discussing the charity he co-founded, Care after Combat.

Bursting onto the music scene in the early 1970s, Gary Glitter went on to sell over 20 million records and release 26 hit singles which would frequently enter the Top Ten of the UK Singles Chart. His fall from grace came in the 1990s, when he was arrested and then convicted in 1999 for downloading thousands of items of child pornography. headtopics.com

Why crypto critics say it’s dangerousThe Securities and Exchange Commission is beginning to bless the first widely available investment funds that track Bitcoin, opening a rift with watchdog groups who argue increased exposure to the volatile market puts consumers at risk This market is so opaque I just don't see how it can be protected from manipulation. But it's great for paying ransoms. This same consumer group laughed at bitcoin years ago now they’re scared of it.

Thomas Jefferson statue to be removed from New York City HallThe New York City Design Commission voted unanimously to remove the statue from the council chamber and move it to a to-be-determined location before 2022. A typical example of how a bunch of mediocre minds like to 'cancel' a person whose mind towers high over theirs. Silliness. Pure silliness. So glad I don't live in NYC, and now never plan to go there. New York is a dead city...

When he wrote 'all men are created equal' the founding fathers were planting the seeds of freedom for all. If they would of tried to abolish slavery right there on the spot, they would of been labeled crack pots and tossed aside. But its easier to hate than understand. 🤦🏻
