The Wolverines defeated the Colleyville Heritage Panthers, 3-2, on Saturday at the Georgetown ISD Athletic Complex in Central Texas. Frisco Wakeland jumped out to a 3-0 lead courtesy of a brace by sophomore forward Audrey Gilbert and a goal by senior midfielder/forward Anna Carrera . Goal Wakeland!!! Sophie Altieri sends in the corner and Audrey Gilbert finishes with the header and the Wolverines take a 1-0 lead with 33:03 left Colleyville Heritage fought back, however, scoring two goals in two minutes with a brace by freshman forward Addison Shimmick. Despite the late surge, Frisco Wakeland held on for the final minute-and-a-half to win their fourth state championship in program history .
