Foley woman dies after fall down stairs at Alison Pointe Apartments, foul play ruled out

According to police, around 2:35 a.m., emergency crew members responded to the apartment complex on County Road 20 following reports of a woman falling down a flight of stairs.

Upon arrival, police and rescue crew members say they found a 63-year-old woman at the bottom of the stairs -- just inside one of the apartments. "She was unconscious and had suffered injuries consistent with a fall from height," investigators said in a release. "She was not responding to the officers and firefighters. Lifesaving measures were attempted. Regrettably, the woman did not regain consciousness. She was pronounced dead at the scene."

Foley Police, the Gulf Shores Police Department, and the Baldwin County Coroner's Office conducted a thorough investigation into the fall and ruled out any suspicion of foul play, officials say. Police say the 63-year-old woman will be further examined by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
