Foley residents express concerns over explosive growth

...That would be the city of Foley.Several people FOX10 News spoke with believe the growth is good, but the speed at which it’s happening, is bad.“Get the infrastructure in place before you go approving more building,” another person said.

“People are coming here we can’t shut the valve off, they’re coming,” Dyess said. “And we have to learn how to deal with that.” It was a packed room as people in the community voiced their opinion on what direction the city should take.“It looks like it’s totally out of control,” Southworth said. “And it’s making it miserable for the local residents to be able to get around town just to use facilities.”Since 2010 Foley has increased from 14,000 people to 21,000.

While many say they welcome growth, Foley resident Sylvia Womack says she wants to see it done more effectively.
