MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A strong storm system will move into Alabama Friday night into Saturday morning. With multiple hazards, ranging from heavy rainfall, strong to severe storms and breezy conditions expected, we are declaring aThe latest data has rain and storms arriving Friday afternoon, lasting into the evening and coming to an end through late Saturday morning. Even with rain and storms expected across Alabama, not everybody will see severe weather.
A relatively rare “high” risk of excessive rainfall has also been issued for a chunk of central Alabama: this includes the counties of Autauga, Chambers, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Perry, and Tallapoosa. Rainfall totals will range from 1″ to 3″ across the region... some isolated totals of more than 3″ will be possible where the heavier storms occur.This system will exit Saturday afternoon and drier, calmer air will move into the state from the northwest.
