Very interesting, it was the big USA oil & gas companies own scientists in the 1960s that alerted their bosses to the issues of climate change fulled by their business. Ever since then the Oil & Gas companies have been doing everything they can to use the tobacco lobby playbook.
They are demanding that exxon account for a non-quantifiable event that they may or may not have anything to do with, but at this point there is zero evidence linking them to and lots of evidence pointing elsewhere. Depending on the judge, the state might get away with it.
