), Denmark’s largest lender, into the United States. If proven, that could lead to steep financial penalties.

The DoJ’s focus on Germany’s largest bank and its work with Frankfurt prosecutors have not previously been reported. Danske’s admission last year that suspicious payments totaling 200 billion euros from Russia and elsewhere flowed through its branch in Estonia has triggered worldwide probes.Although the Justice Department requested information from Deutsche last year relating to Danske transactions, at the time its executives believed that the investigation was focused onDanske and that the German bank itself was not a target.

Deutsche bank is the Epstein of banks. Light punishment repeat offender.

Danske Bank goes back a long way. On 10 March 1870, the Prussian government granted it a banking license. We are talking about 'old money'. Very old money. They will pay a fine, but reputation? Even one so venerable can be brought down in the Age of Information.

johnodonnell21 TomSims_Reuters MattScuffham There are no new insights on investigations regarding Danske. Neither we, nor the prosecutors are aware of any widening of investigations. We continue to work constructively and actively with all relevant authorities.

johnodonnell21 TomSims_Reuters MattScuffham Trump will shut it down because he might get indicated.
