The National Weather Service in Mobile said isolated severe storms could develop across southwest Alabama as early as 3 a.m. Tuesday and could increase in coverage and intensity during the day thanks to both a warm front moving northward across the state and a storm complex expected to move in from the west. The storms could reach the western part of central and north Alabama as early as 6 a.m. and spread eastward.
Almost all of the rest of the state will face either a Level 2 or Level 1 risk of severe weather as well . A warm front is expected to lift northward across Alabama on Tuesday, enhancing the risk for rain and storms. A few of those storms could become severe. The threat for storms will last through the day on Tuesday.
