'Senator Paul is now trying to weaken a bill that was already passed' In an emotional exchange on the Senate floor, Sens. Cory Booker and Kamala Harris spoke out against an amendment that GOP Sen. Rand Paul was trying to add to anti-lynching legislation.

As the memorial service for George Floyd was beginning in Minnesota, Paul, who has been holding up popular bipartisan legislation to make lynching a federal crime, came to the Senate floor in Washington to add an amendment to the anti-lynching legislation and then pass it. He argued the bill as written is overly broad and said that his amendment"would apply the criminal penalties for lynching only and not for other crimes.

"He is my friend ... but I am so raw today."America's legacy of lynching isn't all history. Many say it's still happening today"I seek to amend this legislation not because I take lynching lightly, but because I take it seriously, and this legislation does not," Paul said, arguing that"this bill would cheapen the meaning of lynching by defining it so broadly as to include a minor bruise or abrasion.

Rand Paul is a fool period. Someone who's luck to be alive after broken ribs. I wonder what he classify that incident.

The Bill should not have been on the Floor yesterday. Law makers should not attempt to use Emotional Argument in defense of any legislation. We count on their Logical Resolve to best determine what is appropriate. * I support the long over due law.

Shame on you RandPaul

Elizabeth warren is just as good as kamala Harris, there both good, and try and do a lot, either one would be good for vice president, but not Amy omg not her. warren def. being more experienced, but both fighters

You guys do realize that politicians say things and MSM FakeNewsCNN willpurposefully deceive us bc they take us for fools, thinking we’re too simple and stupid to look into the issue. Right?

Rea's past the headlines people.

JulieZebrak RandPaul is one of the worst senators we have. He - along with the Trump supporting and corrupt SenateGOP - should pack their shit in October because they're going to be looking for jobs in November...

I think Rand Paul is outmatvhed..he wears stupidity well too.

Second Spartacus moment

To those who comment here, before you do, at least know the facts of the bill. Here is why Rand Paul wants to include an amendment, in his own words,

Pretty ridiculous that members of congress have a problem with someone of a different skin tone than their own having an opinion

Senator Paul is always show boating.

He seems to be defending a white racist right to attack any person of color.

'Bruises could be considered lynching,' Paul told reporters Wednesday. 'That's a problem, to put someone in jail for 10 years for some kind of altercation,' referring to the measure's penalty for conspiring or attempting to conspire to commit a lynching.

It’s time to vote him out

Ted and Rand - 'The Beard Brothers' - a cover-up that we all support!

Who votes for this guy? Didn’t his neighbor attack him?

Paul is as much an idiot as Trump. Unbelievable.
