As you look through the Emmy nominees list, you may wonder why some of the shows are from so long ago. There's a reason why.

The George Floyd protests led to a new round of soul-searching about diversity in Hollywood. Our analysis of recent Emmy nominees shows several problem areas. Why are there eight nominees in the supporting acting categories for comedy and drama, but just six for lead?in the drama and comedy series categories from seven to eight in June, and also ruled that the number of nominees in other categories would be determined by the number of submissions.

The new rules also reduced the number of nominees in the limited series/TV movie lead acting categories from six to five, turning those groups into a perpetual Sea of Snubs until the academy, hopefully, revisits those guidelines in the future. I haven’t heard of half of the TV movies nominated. Couldn’t they have at least nominated “The Old Guard”? I saw it on Netflix andNetflix wants Oscars, not Emmys, and made the decision long ago to push for the former and not the latter for its movies. Some film academy members still deride Netflix titles as “TV movies,” and the streamer doesn’t want to do anything to confuse the issue.

I may destroy you is so damn good👀

it is one thing to get nominated and another to win. Look at how many people of minority have multiple awards? You can get nominated as that is the bare minimum and so people get off their back but winning is all about politics.

Let's just admit that award shows are stupid and awards are almost never given to the people with the best performances just the best campaigns

It's the Emmy calendar. To qualify for this year’s awards, shows must have premiered between June 1, 2019, and May 31, 2020.
