Starring Colin Farrell and Michael Keaton in the retelling of the elephant with magical aeronautic ears, “Dumbo” is the latest in a string of Disney’s live-action remakes kicked off by the success in 2010 of Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland.” “Dumbo,” which was also directed by Mr. Burton, is unlikely to gain much lift overseas. It opened over the weekend in nearly all markets but took in a soft $71 million, driven in part by lower audience awareness of the character in Asia.

Dumbo went through so much that even in real life he has to be bashed. Ugh. It was a sad and sweet movie. Acknowledge that it’s got to be 1

Disney is getting too treacly with their sequels. 'Mary Poppins Returns' was indigestible. Must they re-hash all the old ones? Can't they think of anything new?

It was awful! And I paid for 3D. I had to see up close how bad it was!

It was 5 million dollars off of what they had anticipated for its first week. And that was just us theaters. I'm not sure what you think a flop is. I'm assuming they'll make their budget back plus some based on both International and American ticket sales.

They are oversaturating the market. MPR was basically a remake, and there are two more coming in the next 4 months.
All those visual effects can’t make up for bad plot.

It's too sad for many, even with the happy ending. It is the closest to our everyday existence. I am a wreck when I watch it, but I do love it best.
