Doncic plays through pain to lead Dallas Mavericks to 2-1 lead

Kidd downplayed the significance of Doncic’s injury in his postgame press conference, but he lauded his star guard for his near-triple-double of 22 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. “I don’t know if he was hurt,” Kidd said. “I don’t think he ever left the bench. Just to be able to play the minutes that he’s playing, he played 40. We got his minutes down tonight. Understanding that we lean on him to do a lot for us on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.“I don’t know if it was hurt or if he was just trying to get warmed up, but he had a lot of good looks for us. He created a lot of baskets for his teammates. Defensively, I thought he was big.
