Denver's Night at the Museums event has many popular Denver institutions offering free admission until 10 p.m. on Nov. 4.DENVER — Free. That word always seems to be accompanied by some sort of catch. But the word is used in its purest form when it comes to Visit Denver’s Night at the Museums event.
On Saturday, Nov. 4, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., 14 of Denver's cultural and educational institutions will be open after hours for free. Shuttles will be running between museums for free as well. This is a big deal for Denver’s hidden gems like the“It is somewhat of a hidden gem—we would love for it to be an unhidden gem,” said Anna Boatwright, deputy director and COO of the Clyfford Still Museum. “We want everyone to discover the gem — that’s our goal, that’s our hope.
One of the museum’s goals is to increase accessibility to the arts, and that includes nights like this and also monthly free and pay-what-you-can days.Vice President of Tourism Flavia Light said last year, 14,000 people attended the free event. It is a way to introduce people to museums they have not been to or heard of, or to get them back to an old favorite.
“We are trying to get more and more awareness about what we are here, what we have here, and how folks can access it, so a night like tonight is important to help with that effort,” Boatwright said. Denver Arts Week will have more than 600 events throughout the course of the week until Nov. 11, from 300 different organizations.
