Democratic leaders across the nation are vowing to help women who travel to seek abortions

FILE - California Governor Gavin Newsom answers questions at a news conference in Los Angeles, on June 9, 2022. California Gov. Newsom, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee and Oregon Gov. Kate Brown on Friday, June 24, 2022, vowed to protect reproductive rights and help women who travel to the West Coast seeking abortions following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. PORTLAND, Ore.

All three states anticipate an influx of people seeking abortions, especially as neighboring conservative states move to outlaw or greatly restrict the procedure. For example, Seattle-based Starbucks said it will reimburse abortion travel expenses for employees enrolled in its health care plan if a legal provider isn’t available in their home state or within 100 miles of their home.

In California, abortion was outlawed in 1850, except when the life of the mother was in danger. The law changed in 1967 to include abortions in the case of rape, incest or if a woman’s mental health were in danger.

Good for them, now those same men & women (because according to you guys men can also get pregnant) can have access to future abortions largely for convenience sake.
