Once that agreement was signed, the city had seven days to pay over $90,000 to former chief Shawn Baer and over $80,000 to deputy chief Doug Davis. That period has now ended.within the police department came into the open last month when Steve Wilkinson made a host of allegations during testimony at a council session.
The deal also contains significant non-financial terms, too. For instance -- both the former officers and city officials agree not to disparage one another. The former officers agree not to sue the city, and the city agrees to defend the ex-policemen in any future lawsuits. And although there was a host of allegations against both officers, some involving possible criminal conduct, the city pledged to halt its investigation and to remove records of them from their personnel files.
In fact, under the agreement, the city considers both men as "separated in good standing," and indeed not under investigation or facing disciplinary charges for anything.Stay Connected
