CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio —by Circleville Mayor Michelle Blanton on Tuesday when WSYX made another attempt to bring community concerns to her.
“You have to say something, otherwise, it makes people think there is nobody in control,” a Circleville resident said. “You’ve got to communicate with people. Just like anything else. The people have got to know what’s going on.”was escorted out of the department and is currently on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a misconduct investigation., who’d been hired to clean up the department, was fired a week into his job.
A representative for the police union representing the Circleville Police Department, Joe Hegedus, told WSYX it was his understanding that Sgt. Kenny Fisher has been placed in charge.The mayor’s office has continued to share this statement regarding the most recent department personnel being put on leave:
“On March 25, Acting Chief Doug Davis was placed on paid administrative leave from the Circleville Police Department due to an investigation into alleged employee misconduct. In the meantime, the Circleville Police Department is in the capable hands of experienced leaders within the agency. The city took this action in order to protect the integrity of the department while the investigation is ongoing."“Number one, do your job,” one resident said.
