Dallas TX police arrested man in woman's death

A man was arrested Monday in Dallas in connection with a woman 's death at an apartment, according to officials. police notified Dallas authorities they received a report that a woman had been murdered about a day earlier, according to officials.

Officers were notified of the killing about 1:15 a.m. and responded to an apartment in the 1300 block of West Wheatland Road, near South Polk Street.The suspect, Omar Lucio, initially refused to leave the home, but he went outside about 3 a.m. and was taken into custody, police said.Dallas PD 911 call-taker placed on leave after being arrested on family violence chargeThe Dallas County medical examiner’s office has not yet released the woman’s identity or her cause of death.

Detectives determined Lucio was a suspect in the slaying, and he was booked into the Dallas County jail on a murder charge.
