Public works crews will start sanding roads throughout the city starting Wednesday evening, focusing on bridges, hilly areas and major roads. Snow plows could also be deployed if necessary, city officials say.An emergency operations center overseeing all city response will be open by noon Wednesday and rooms have been reserved at the downtown Omni Hotel near Dallas City Hall for 911 operators and other city workers to ensure they’re available to work.
Briefings earlier with officials from the local branch of the National Weather Service and energy provider Oncor indicated that the impact may not be as severe it was during last February’s storm, Vaz said.
