Washington said new evidence cleared Rocha and Williams of involvement in that case, but he declined to provide specifics.
Prosecutors also filed a charge of official oppression against Williams in the prominent case involving Vincent Doyle. Williams had already facedVincent Doyle said he was struck by a so-called less lethal bullet during a protest in downtown Dallas. A grand jury declined in November to indict Williams in Doyle’s case, but the district attorney’s office filed a misdemeanor assault charge — which does not require a grand jury’s decision — a month later.
