As fire crews continued to battle deadly wildfires sweeping the western United States, thousands of evacuees in Oregon and other states faced a daily struggle while scientists in Europe tracked the smoke on Wednesday as it spread on an intercontinental scale.

With state resources stretched to their limit, President Donald Trump on Tuesday night approved a request from Oregon’s governor for a federal disaster declaration, bolstering federal assistance for emergency response and relief efforts.

Search teams scoured incinerated homes for the missing as firefighters kept up their exhausting battle. “The fact that these fires are emitting so much pollution into the atmosphere that we can still see thick smoke over 8,000 kilometers away reflects just how devastating they have been in their magnitude and duration,” CAMS Senior Scientist Mark Parrington said in a statement.

The fires roared to life in California in mid-August, and erupted across Oregon and Washington around Labor Day last week, many of them sparked by catastrophic lightning storms and stoked by record-breaking heat waves and bouts of howling winds.

We must cut down the 4 foot grass and dried shrubbery in LA and Orange County areas, too many yearly fires occur because of these issues that are neglected by the counties.

And her running mate JoeBiden is still pro fracking like shitty governor GavinNewsom

This vile human being has neglected her state and her district all her life. Now she has the audacity to pop in and talk the talk she won't walk. It's too late, baby! Go take care of the homeless, filth, feces infested streets before you show up for votes. Election2020

Always comical to see politicians (on both sides) wear brand new clothes to disaster sites. Always sits well.

Nice photo op!

Climate Change is a religion for them.

What’s with the masks out in the open at a more than reasonable distance one from the other? Must be for the masses watching 🤦🏻‍♂️

Up in smoke - much like the one shot you get at a great vice president candidate pick.

Fact check... wildfires were much worse in the early 20th century, but of course KamalaHarris is beholden false Democrat rhetoric on climate change

Now tour the areas ravaged by burning and looting Leftist “protesters”

Also stop touching your fashion mask 😷

No ones fault but the Democratic parties control over California and their decades long history of forest mismanagement 😂😂🤡🤡

Proper politician giving sensible comments

How did it get started? Someone living in the woods 'nomad living' cooking their meal?

Photos: Wildfires shroud West Coast in smokeWildfires raging in the West have killed more than 30 people with dozens of others missing and tens of thousands more in California, Oregon, and Washington forced to flee their homes. I thought they welcomed fires in those places. Residents didn't seem to mind rioters burning buildings. I really don't get how is that here in the number one country around the world, we experience wild fires in the same area every year? We got more technology than the rest to prevent fires from consuming like a cigar the land of working families , with respect. This sadly will be the new normal with climate change.
