BREAKINGNEWS: With COVID-19 cases on the rise once again, LA County Health officials are urging residents to wear masks when inside an indoor setting 😷

Los Angeles County Department of Public Health officials are once again strongly recommending people to mask up as coronavirus cases are once again on the rise.

"Now it is strongly recommended that all individuals wear a high-quality mask that fits well in the following settings: in public indoor spaces; when using public transit, including buses, ride-shares, taxis and medical transport; correctional and detention facilities; and homeless and emergency shelters," said L.A. County Health Officer Dr. Muntu Davis.

As of Thursday, the number of COVID-positive patients in county hospitals rose to 648, up from 589 the previous day. Roughly 40% of those patients are admitted for coronavirus-related issues, while the rest were admitted for other reasons, but tested positive at the hospital. They also suggest that the threat of newly-discovered variants, which are often more contagious, could spread rapidly from person to person, even those vaccinated.

Why no acknowledgement of the wide array of symptoms? I have long Covid & yes, I have fatigue, but my most scary symptoms have been things like new onset chest pain, tachycardia, ... I’m grateful bbc are sharing information of how harmful covid can be for children. I’ve followed LongCovidKids throughout as a good source of info on this topic, luckily my 👧 haven’t needed the excellent support they also offer families.
